This is in conjunction with the Law LB 260 that makes it necessary for schools in Nebraska to make this information available to parents and students about concussions. Please read it and watch the video to become more aware of the effects of concussions and how students will be handled that sustain concussions.

IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A RED RAIDER!!

The 2012-2013 Sidney Public School Activity Calendar is now available online to view, download or print. To access the calendar go to www.sidneyraiders.org and click on either "DISTRICT CALENDAR" on the left navigation or go to the "ADMINISTRATION" tab at the top and choose "DISTRICT CALENDAR"

The calendar is available to download via the bright yellow link at the top of every month. This link will pull up the full 2012-2013 school year for all activities and is a .pdf that will print on 11X17 paper.


The monthly calendar below the link contains all the new 2012-2013 calendar art and by clicking on the photos you will be taken to a website called www.westernconferencene.org/ and here you can choose SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL (although all SPS activities may be found through the SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL link) This online calendar will be updated as changes arise. The calendar has options to filter out events you would like to view and then download, print, send to an Email address. There is a "notify me" tab that will allow you to sign up to be notified for any changes made to events you wish to subscribe to. There is also a "subscribe" tab that will allow you to sync with various RSS feeds, iCal, Google and Outlook calendars. These two options may not function correctly until August 2012.

The printed activity calendars will still be available when school starts but this will hopefully help you start planning for the 2012-2013 school year now. It's going to be another AMAZING year at Sidney Public Schools! Please let me know if you have any problems with any of the links above.

ANOTHER FUN DANCE EVENT OFFERED BY SIDNEY JUST FOR KIX!

•WHEN & WHERE:  JUNE 10^th- 12^th at Sidney HS Performing Arts Center (on the stage)
•REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday May 24^th so T-shirts/Poms can be ordered.  
•CAMP FEE varies for each class. Please make checks to Just For Kix:  

$38  - Preschool/Kindergarten Classes  - includes $12 JFK T-shirt, youth poms, princess wand, 3 days of camp/show final day of camp.  Items for camp cost $18 + $20 camp fee = $38 

$46  - 1^st - 5^th Grade Classes  - includes $12 JFK T-shirt, full size plastic poms w/baton handle, 3 days of camp/show final day of camp.  Items for camp cost $26 + a $20 camp fee = $46 

$54 - 6^th - 12^th Grade Class  - includes $12 JFK T-shirt, full size metallic poms w/baton handle, 3 days of camp/show final day of camp. Items for camp cost $34 + a $20 camp fee = $54

SUMMER CAMP CLASSES &TIMES:   
 
•PRESCHOOL AGE GIRLS - Princess Camp!  If your daughter is in preschool now, starting preschool this fall or is nearing preschool age (2+) register for this class. Wear your favorite princess dress or tutu and join us! The last 10 min of class each day is Mommy & Me time.

Join us for circle time & we will perform for you! Class time 9:00 - 9:40 am each day. $38  

•K-GARTEN CLASS - Princess Camp!  If your daughter was in Kindergarten this year or is starting Kindergarten this fall, this is the class for her. Wear your favorite princess dress or   tutu each day! This class meets 9:45 -10:30 am each day. $38

•1^st & 2^nd GRADE  - Register for your grade fall 2013. It meets 10:30 - 11:30each day. $46

•3^rd - 5^th GRADE  - Register for your grade fall 2013. It meets 11:30 am - 12:30 each day. $46

•6^th - 12^th GRADE  - Register for your grade fall 2013. It meets 12:30 - 1:45 pm each day. $54

Camp Payment must accompany registration and be received by Friday, May 24^th.

This is a Kix for Kids Event! $300 will be donated to Sidney Public Schools for use of the facility.

After expenses, all other proceeds will be donated to South Elementary School.

Dental Day

This day provides dental care for children without dental insurance.  Care is provided by dental student from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry in collaboration with local dentists and hospitals.

FOR THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR

Sidney Public Schools is accepting quotations for picture packages for the 2013-2014 school year.  Information regarding specifications for the quotes may be obtained online at www.sidneyraiders.org or from the Superintendent's office at 1101 21^st Ave., 308-254-5855.  Quotes must be received by June 1, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in a sealed envelope marked "Picture Quotations".

NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF SIDNEY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that the regular meeting of the Board of Education of Sidney School District #1 will be held Monday, June 17th - 5:30PM in the Board Room of the Administrative Offices, 1101-21^st Ave, Sidney, NE. The meeting is open to the public.  An agenda for such meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection in the office of the Superintendent of Schools.
