Dear Sidney Public Schools Family,

I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve the students, staff and community of Sidney Public Schools. It is truly an honor to have been chosen as your superintendent. Although Leslie, my wife and I have only been in Sidney for a short time, it is obvious that this district and community are a gem in the state of Nebraska. From what we have experienced thus far, SPS is an innovative, student driven school district and we are lucky to be part of it!  I look forward to working with and learning from you and our students as we move forward.

Since March, it has been a pleasure for me to get a head start in meeting some wonderful people in both the community and SPS, as well as visiting the schools throughout the district. Thank you to those that  I have met, as you have greeted myself and Leslie with the warm friendliness that we have heard so much about in Western Nebraska. Our transition to the district has been easier due to your kindness.

Over the next school year, I look forward to learning more about what makes SPS special, as well as the culture, unique traits and strengths of our students, parents, employees and educational community as a whole. During my first year, my intent is to explore the district and engage with as many stakeholders as possible with an open mind and a pledge to develop positive relationships that will benefit and move our district forward. I am certain that there is a wealth of knowledge and aptitude among all students, parents, staff, and faculty in this remarkable district. I look forward to our future conversations.

Through my years of experience as a professional educator,  I have gained an understanding of the requirement for both success in academics, along with the value of  fostering relationships with district and community stakeholders. As a result, my  primary goal as a superintendent will always be to listen and learn with positive intent, working to improve the academic and social emotional  environment for all learners. I do believe that everyday is an opportunity to learn.

My goals as I step into the role of superintendent, are to:

1.)  Maintain a commitment to focus on academic success for all students.

2.) Growth development for all employees.

3.) Budget management and fiscal responsibility.

4.) Collaboration and communication that promotes and protects the district.

In closing, I look forward to learning more about the "RAIDER WAY" and working with you during the 2023 - 2024 school year and future years.  Should you have any questions please contact me at andrew.farber@raidermail.org.

Sincerely,

Andrew Farber

Superintendent
