Our mission is DEVELOPING CONFIDENT AND POWERFUL LEARNERS! We know that confidence is a leading indicator for success after high school and we know that in an ever changing world students will need to be powerful learners when they enter new jobs.
Quality teaching and exceptional learning are the focus of our enterprise. We know that by making good sound curriculum decisions and providing the support our teachers need we have developed a learning environment of the highest quality. Sidney’s “instructional model” is based on sound lesson design, research-based instructional strategies and explicit direct instruction that engages all students.
21st Century Education with the infusion of more and more technology has challenged us to provide hands-on exposure to a variety of software and hardware. Sidney Public Schools is a 1 to 1 school where we put chromebooks in the hands of all students in grades 5-12. Our lower grades are also well stocked with chromebooks and iPads so that all students have devices in their hands everyday. Smartboards and projectors are located in most classrooms and are instructional tools for teachers.
